Why Would I Need These Restorations?
Our dentist might recommend one of these restorations in the following instances:
- Teeth with deep cracks, large cavities or failing old fillings
- Root-canal-treated teeth that need full protection
- Gaps from one to three missing teeth (ideal for a fixed bridge)
- Patients who grind their teeth and have worn down enamel
- Anyone seeking a durable, cosmetic upgrade from metal fillings
What to Expect: Step-by-Step
1. Consultation and Digital Scan
We examine the tooth (or gap) and take 3D scans or impressions. For cracked teeth, a low-dose X-ray checks root health before planning the restoration.
2. Tooth Preparation
- Crowns and Bridges — A thin layer of enamel is reshaped to make room for the ceramic cap.
- Inlays/Onlays — Only the decayed or damaged portion is removed, conserving maximum healthy structure.
3. Precise Impression and Shade Match
Digital files go to our on-site milling unit or partner lab. We record your exact tooth colour so the final piece blends perfectly.
4. Temporary Protection
A lightweight temporary crown or filling shields the area while the lab fabricates your custom restoration (usually 1–2 weeks).
5. Fitting and Bonding
At the second visit, we test fit, fine-tune the bite and permanently bond the crown, bridge, inlay or onlay with high-strength adhesive. You’ll leave being able to chew normally.
6. After-Care and Longevity
Brush and floss as usual—just slide floss out the side of a bridge pontic instead of snapping upward. With good hygiene and twice-yearly check-ups, ceramics can last 10–15 years or more.
Crowns and bridges are common dental restorations used to repair damaged teeth or replace missing ones. They help restore the function, appearance and alignment of your smile. Designed to be durable and natural-looking, crowns and bridges support long-term oral health and improve everyday comfort with eating and speaking.
